SCEWC 2024: 5-7 November 2024
The CC4DR is pleased to be part of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), the Smart Cities yearly event taking place in Barcelona. In 2024, the SCEWC will last from 5 to 7 November 2024.
The session "Digital rights in Europe: Where are we at and where shall we go?" will take a European perspective on the place of digital rights within the European digital transformation by bringing together stakeholders from cities as well as from European institutions, such as the European Commission and the European Parliament. The conversation will address the common points and topics in the European Declaration on Digital Rights and Principles and the Cities Coalition for Digital Rights’s declaration, the role of local governments in protecting human rights, and the implications of global policies on ethical and inclusive digital practices. A guest speaker from the European Commission, the writer of the Digital Decade 2030 annual report, will present his views on the place of Digital Rights in the Digital Decade 2030 annual Reports. We will also take this opportunity to present the first edition of the “International Digital Rights Days”, coordinated by CC4DR and taking place in dozens of cities all around the world, on December 10 & 11 2024.
