Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has a digital rights agenda in order to create a sustainable and well-designed urban development

We believe that local governments are responsible for and able to promote and protect the digital rights of the citizens. In that regard, the Municipality launches lifelong learning academies especially for youths and all citizens in order to promote digital literacy, applies Personal Data Protection Law, provides several public services online, protects online services users’ personal data digital by security tools, announces Municipal Council Decisions and city development plans online and monitors the most recent developments in the field of digital transformation and digital rights by Department of Information Technologies.

Struggling with digital challenges requires strong international cooperation between all public and private organizations. We strongly believe that international collaborations will bring the achievement of shared aspirations of the international community for the future such as peace, sustainable development, and secured digital rights and human rights for all.
