As a member, we commit to acting collectively and on a global scale to solve shared challenges and opportunities related to the following five principles.

1. Universal and equal access to the internet, and digital literacy;
2. Privacy, data protection and security;
3. Transparency, accountability, and non-discrimination of data, content and algorithms;
4. Participatory Democracy, diversity and inclusion; and
5. Open and ethical digital service standards.

Department of Atlanta Information Management (“AIM”) has plans or has already implemented the following in support of these five principles:

1. Universal and equal access to the internet, and digital literacy
   1. Plans to commit to universal broadband
   2. Public education campaigns to increase digital literacy and awareness
2. Privacy, data protection and security
   1. Plans to publish a data protection policy
   2. Plans to finalize a policy to protect data privacy and security
3. Transparency, accountability, and non-discrimination of data, content and algorithms
   1. Plans to create or maintain digital portal to share open data
   2. Published open data related to city services and technologies
4. Participatory Democracy, diversity, and inclusion
   1. Leverage existing technology platforms to increase participation in government processes
   2. Plans to ensure our digital platforms are accessible
5. Open and ethical digital service standards
   1. Implemented Ethical Digital Standards over IoT devices, by signing on to a commitment to common principles for the responsible and equitable deployment of the Internet of Things, led by the City of New York on September 26, 2016.
