Portland's Zine on Digital Justice, Digital Rights and Surveillance Technologies
The Smart City PDX program from the City of Portland has just published the Zine "Digital Justice, Digital Rights and Surveillance Technologies". This zine, which has been designed for community outreach, includes information about Digital Rights and Digital Justice, describes surveillance technologies, and some community experiences on Digital Justice.
This zine is the product of a public engagement process and open discussions. This material aims to help better understanding of Portland's Surveillance Technologies policy, which is being ellaborated.
Digital Justice is the fair treatment of all people in the realm of technology and information. Technology access should not depend on race, abilities, gender, age, or social context.
Digital justice ensures that people have the digital rights and resources they need to thrive. This includes access to digital tools, shared ownership of digital resources, data protection, and open and accountable digital governance.
