On October 26th, at 13:30-15:30CET, within the framework of UCLG's Urban October event, representatives of the Cities Coalition for Digital Rights and the International Federation of Library Associations will be presenting their perspectives on how municipalities and libraries can collaborate to further a Pact for the Future that ensures opportunities for all.
The Agenda will be as follows:
- Introduction and high-level overview by political representatives of cities
- Intervention by mayors
- Partner keynotes addressing library and city perspectives and experiences with digital rights/inclusion work:
- Faola Hadoj, Director of Innovation, City of Tirana, will present their work on Bibliotechs in the city
- Catharina Isberg, Library Director, Helsingborg City Libraries, will present their work on digital inclusion.
- Open Discussion
- Fiona O’Connor, Digital Literacy Expert from the Toronto Library, will then briefly present her scan of all CC4DR cities, for us to see what each city is doing in the field of digital literacy; and possibly collaborating in some of the initiatives.
- Her presentation will kick-start an open discussion, where we will discuss how city-governments and libraries can collaborate on digital rights. This collaboration can start in the form of a meetup where we can discuss opportunities and collaborations. What roles could IFLA & CC4DR play in this effort?
